HISTORIAS

Esta exhibición visual de arte, por primera vez únicamente virtual, la colaboración LIVE AT THE LIBRARY entre Franklin Furnace Archive y la Biblioteca del Pratt Institute, presentará imagenes en linea de 35 obras de arte político y múltiples creados por 15 artistas Argentinos desde los 1970s hasta el 2020.  La curadora Ruth Benitez, con la consulta de las curadoras Fatima Bercht, Agustina Bullrich, y Rossy Ramos, ha seleccionado las obras por Bedevo et. al., C.A.PA.TA.CO/GAS-TAR (Fernando Amengual, Mercedes Idoyaga “Emei”, Fernando “Coco” Bedoya, Diego Fontanet, Joan Prim, Carlos N. Tirabassi, and Daniel Sanjurjo), Jaime Davidovich, León Ferrari, Por El Ojo (Julia Balmaceda, Federico Gonzalez, Daniel Sanjurjo, and Ignacio Sourrouille), Liliana Porter, and Dolores Zorreguieta. Acompañados por ensayos eruditos, memorias, entrevistas y una lista ilustrada de las obras que por la mayor parte son de la colección del Franklin Furnace Archive, HISTORIAS está disponible aquí. Programas que serán presentados en el futuro en conjunción de HISTORIAS incluyen un panel de discusión con los artistas y las curadoras, la presentación de las cintas de Jaime Davidovich en asociación con Judith Henry, The Institute for the Study of Latin American Art, y Electronic Arts Intermix, y un taller de arte para niños.  Los fondos para HISTORIAS fueron proveídos por el Departamento de Asuntos Culturales de la Ciudad de Nueva York en asociación con el Municipio de la Ciudad.

 This visual art exhibition, the first solely virtual LIVE AT THE LIBRARY collaboration between Franklin Furnace Archive and Pratt Institute Library, will present online images of 35 political artworks and multiples created by 15 Argentine artists from the 1970s through 2020. Curator Ruth Benitez, in consultation with curators Fatimah Bercht, Agustina Bullrich and Rossy Ramos, has selected works by Bedevo et. al., C.A.PA.TA.CO/GAS-TAR (Fernando Amengual, Mercedes Idoyaga “Emei”, Fernando “Coco” Bedoya, Diego Fontanet, Joan Prim, Carlos N. Tirabassi, and Daniel Sanjurjo), Jaime Davidovich, León Ferrari, Por El Ojo (Julia Balmaceda, Federico Gonzalez, Daniel Sanjurjo, and Ignacio Sourrouille), Liliana Porter, and Dolores Zorreguieta. Accompanied by scholarly essays, memoirs, interviews and an illustrated checklist of works largely from the collection of Franklin Furnace Archive, Historias is available here. Future programming to be presented in conjunction with HISTORIAS will include a panel discussion with the artists and curators, a screening of the films of Jaime Davidovich in partnership with Judith Henry, The Institute for the Study of Latin American Art, and Electronic Arts Intermix, and a childrens’ art workshop.  Funding for HISTORIAS is provided by The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
